Spring / Summer 2011 - Compathos presented at NetSquared, San Francisco, the Wild Goose Festival: Arts, Justice and Spirituality, and Autodesk Innovation & Design Series - "IDEAS is an exclusive gathering of thought leaders for the purpose of exploring design-as a systematic approach to problem-solving and innovation, encompassing form, function, and performance-and its impact on corporate and societal success.

May 2011 - Compathos film documentary "Drawn from Water" musical score with musical contributors Sigur Ros, award winning Hollywood composer, Eric Hester, with lyrics and performance by Lale Labuko won Grand Prize in the "World" category and was Finalist for Song of the Year in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest "World" category. The song also won an Honorable Mention in the World Music category in the 2010 International Songwriting Competition (ISC).with over 15,000 entries from 115 countries. May 2011 -Compathos participates at SKoll World Forum, Oxford England,

March 2011 - Compathos is a content partner at Sustainatopia 2011, a unique, seven-day fusion event focusing passionately on sustainability and impact investing as cooperative solutions - from March 31- April 6, 2011 in Miami, Florida. This years themes is EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH INVESTMENT.

March 2011 - Compathos Nick Kalbach to lead a challenging nine day Adventure Film Course which will take place in the remote rain forests of Panama for Outside Adventure Film School, March 13-21. This epic filmmaking adventure will traverse the Cangandi River on a kayaking journey through remote and mountainous tropical wilderness. Students will capture tribal stories and reflections from the fascinating Kuna tribal leaders and meet with a Smithsonian bio-diversity scientist.

Compathos launches Drawn from Water the Movie campaign website. Special thanks to the award winning BKWLD (Top 25.Net Design Agencies of 2010/ clients too numerous to list) who contributed an absolute visually stunning web campaign and product packaging for the project. Award winning, Hollywood composer, Eric Hester's "Drawn from Water" soundtrack is now available on Amazon and ITunes

September 2010- Compathos launches its Film with Social Impact Producer & Director Series at the Hub San Francisco, which will screen new, critically acclaimed releases, undiscovered gems along with established award winning documentaries which account for a range of environmental and humanitarian impacts. This year's goals are to not only illuminate educational films and issues, but the entrepreneurial artists that are standing in the gap with their amazing talent, energy and vision. September screenings include Return to El Salvador with director Jamie Moffet and Waste Land directed by Lucy Walker with speaker Ann Wizer, founder of XS Project. Series partners include BAVC, Intersection for the Arts, Feel Good World, Explore and more.

May 2010- The screening for Compathos Drawn from Water film documentary with key delegates in the Ethiopian government was well received and backed by a letter of government endorsement. Compathos attended various conferences including DC10 Summit Series and Telluride Mt. Film Festival this month. Upcoming in house projects and campaigns include those with African Leadership Academy, Hope Sings, Press Institute, the UN and many others.

Matt Katsolis completed Moving On film documentary for the Ugandan organization Light Gives Heat. Over a hundred women in the villages of Walukuba/Danita in southern Uganda make beautiful, colorful, hand-rolled beads from recycled paper. Light Gives Heat Humanitarian Project supports their efforts by distributing and reselling their goods.

March 2010- Compathos Director of International Media, Nick Kalbach, to participate on the "Documentaries for Social Impact" panel at Social Venture Capital/Social Enterprise Conference, Maimi, FL. The panel discusses how documentaries can be a powerful tool, and in some cases, the very best way to reach the broadest possible audience.

January 2010- Just Means, Cause Global for Social Media and Social Change, along with P2P Foundation forecast which trends are most likely to shape the cause-wired landscape this year. The forecast mentions Compathos as a site to watch in 2010.

Compathos media partner, humanitarian photographer, Esther Havens traveled to Haiti, Jan.18. Compathos highlights Architects for Humanity as a highly innovative org to consider for donations, volunteering and sustainable outcomes regarding the Haitian earthquake.

December 2009 - Compathos is nearing completion of the musical score for the Drawn from Water documentary. The score is being produced by multi-award winning film and television composer, producer and songwriter, Eric Hester with collaborative artists ranging from traditional Ethiopian and American musical contributors to the internationally acclaimed Sigur Ros.

October 2009 -
Compathos Productions launches its website with the focus of creating compelling video marketing strategies for the adventure, eco, geo, voluntour and experiential travel markets. The Compathos Production team consists of award winning photographers and filmmakers who have produced work for a range of clients including Discovery Channel, O'Neill, ESPN, Fox, FUEL TV, the Smithsonian & the United Nations. Twenty percent of all profits are donated to the Compathos Foundation which focuses its resources on cause-related media campaigns and non-profit initiatives around the planet. Compathos Productions attended the Adventure Travel Trade Association 2009 World Summit in Quebec, meeting with thought leaders, media communicators, non profits and tour providers from all facets of the sustainable travel movement. Compathos is an Industry Partner member at ATTA.
