Cynthia is Founding Director and CVO (Chief Visionary Officer) at Compathos. She is also a founding Partner and Creative Director at Millennia Media Group, a suite of companies in the professional audio, recording arts and design industries. She is an advocate, artisan entrepreneur, idea architect and multi-disciplinary creative professional pursuing converging ideas. Her experience includes product marketing, brand architecture, project management, business development, web, print and media production, editorial management, writing and collaborative publishing.
Nick Kalbach Co-Founder, Director Of International Media
Nick is a California based filmmaker and grass roots media visionary. Nick's work has taken him from the jungles of Central America to the plains of Africa in projects that have ranged from archiving indigenous history to capturing humanitarian injustices. Before joining the Compathos Foundation, Nick's work included freelance projects with national foundations and NGO's including the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Earth Train International and the United Nations.
Chad brings a wealth of media industry experience to the Compathos team. Chad has worked in Hollywood as a story producer, assistant director, locations manager, casting director, and field site coordinator with shows from CBS, NBC Studios, Fox, MTV, B2 Entertainment, Dean River Cinema, Warner Brothers, MGM Studios, Paramount Pictures, Dreamworks, and more recently the Discovery Channel. Chad's twenty plus recent projects include Kid Nation, Smash Lab, The Greatest Show on Earth, Armed and Famous, X-effect, We are Marshall, Stroke of Genius, The Clearing, Remember the Titans, Road Trip, and many more. A travel enthusiast since childhood, he has a passion for learning about other cultures, destinations and corresponding global issues that affect us today.
Before starting as the Sierra Club's National Student Field Coordinator, Kim was a large Regional Organizer helping students campaign for sustainable campuses and communities in Pa., Ohio, Mich. and W.Va. Kim is also a founding member of the Energy Action Coalition, an organization of over 50 groups in the U.S. and Canada fighting for clean and just energy solutions. As a student at Temple University, Kim led a wind power campaign on her campus and attended her first SSC SPROG (summer training program) which led her to a trainings internship in the SSC's DC office. It was there she stepped up to work with the student-led SSC Conservation and Energy Committees and through them she helped organize the U.S. and international youth presence at the U.N. Climate Negotiations in Montreal in 2005. Previously, Kim interned with Campus Progress where, among other things, she blogged undercover from conservative events and was a Young People For 2006 Fellow. She has a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Jeycob Carlson hails from northern California but is often found on another part of the planet searching for captivating images and inspiring stories. Both an artist and technician he brings passion and honed skill to every project. His work has transported him from directing music videos in Hollywood to shooting the trash dump villages of Nicaragua. Always aspiring to create a true cinematic experience that not only captures the essence of a country and people, but also moves the heart and mind.
Kristen is a Californian currently living in Herrnhut, Germany. Kristen conducts photography and journalism workshops in impoverished nations along with "Pick A Pocket" a group of young creative professionals uniting their talents and passions to raise awareness about issues such as extreme poverty through publishing, photography, art and music. Kristin was instrumental in establishing the Drawn from Water Orphanage in Ethiopia.
